Java Jive is a great little neighborhood joint. The omelets and pancakes are solid, if unspectacular. The real highlights are the biscuitss and the gingerbread waffle served with lemon curd. The biscuits are the best I've found in the city - soft and buttery and meltingly delicious. The coffee is good, as well as the service. The atmosphere is cool and funky.\r

The two complaints I have against the joint are: 1) 9 am is too late to open for breakfast, even on the weekend. 2) It's a bit on the pricey side for what you get.\r

Overall, a consistently solid place, so if you wake up late on the weekend and need a nosh, give it a shot. And order two biscuits...
Pros: The best biscuits around
Cons: pricey, bad weekend hours
