So I have been going to the BP for years as I work downtown, I usually take clients for a quick lunch at Ellyngtons or The Tavern and it was always good. The food at Ellyngtons has progressively gotten better over the last few months and I have began to pay attention. I had an incredible fish dish last week and then last Friday I came to the conclusion that I had never tasted anything so wonderful and had to know what was going on in that kitchen. Turns out they hired this new chef of world class reputation, he has worked at top restaurants all over the country. He has just made my # 1 list for places to dine downtown, or anywhere in Denver...I had a tuna melt that was seriously the best thing I have ever eaten. The very educated and amazingly proficient waiter explained that the chef poaches fresh tuna in olive oil... Have you ever heard of that?? I reccomend it highly and think if you havent tried Ellyngtons for lunch, you are absolutely missing out. I hope the BP can hold on to this guy, they have a seriously good thing in him.
Pros: food, service, food
Cons: it is downtown
