I have a three year old, so I haven't been to the movies in, oh... about three years! Who can afford to go? A babysitter sets you back ten bucks an hour and tickets are close to $10 apiece. By the time you figure in drive-time, you've spent $50 and haven't even ordered a soda yet! But the Academy has on-site babysitting that's only $5 per child! They also have pizza, beer and wine and their prices (tickets and concessions) are totally reasonable. Not only that, but the interior is really lovely - there's nothing else like it in Portland (that I've seen anyway!) Check out The Academy Theater - you won't be disappointed!
