Great place for lunch or after-work drinks with friends. The decor is very warm & inviting with its red leather booths and wood seating at the bar area. The cocktails are excellent (the raspberry martini is phenomenal) and I've never seen a better priced wine list in all of Boston... something like $10-15 over retail. As for the food, they have a great selection of salads, sandwiches, appetizers and mains. The food isn't fancy, but you'll get generous portions of delicious homey concoctions like Shepherd's pie, steak tips, calamari, etc. at extremely reasonable prices -- which is why I think it makes for a better than average place for lunch or a great place to grab dinner with lots of people. Yes, it can get extremely crowded (and noisy!) so you may have a bit of a wait, but it's totally worth it... especially for that macaroni & cheese!
Pros: comfort food, reasonable prices, good drinks
Cons: can get very crowded, a bit noisy, no reservation policy
