Don't Waste Your Time 12/15/2006

I was very excited about going to Cut for the first time, especially since it got great reviews. Needless to say I was totally disappointed. I ordered the lobster and shrimp cocktail ($26), which ended up being mixed with mayonnaise, and a Kobe Beef filet ($60), with grilled onions (add'l $8). For sides, we ordered the brussel sprouts and onion rings. I asked for my steak with ""no pink"" (I know this is sad), and the waiter said ""medium-well""? and I said ok (assuming that ""no pink"" in the center meant medium well here). Anyway, it came VERY pink, and I couldn't eat it. When I told a floor manager (not sure who it was), she took my plate so fast (which already had my sides on it), that I barely got to explain anything. Finally, after my friend was friend was done with his dinner, my plate arrived. The steak was BLACK, and my cold sides were still on the plate. It was disgusting. They couldn't even re-plate it. They said if the steak was overdone, they would redo it, but my friend has been done eating for 10 minutes already at this point, so I just wanted to get out of there. Since it was Kobe Beef, it was edible, but tasted like charcoal. I know well-done meat is going to be dark on the outside, but this was ridiculous. Just the way they handled it bothered me (returning the same plate, with the cold sides still on it and they never replenished the grilled onions that cost $8). Overall, the place is way overrated. Oh...and there was some drunk woman in there yelling ""where's Wolfgang Puck?"" for 5 minutes straight. Real classy joint. Pros: Can't think of any Cons: Everything more
