I'm Chinese-American, my mom is a Chengdu native, and both my parents are obsessed with finding the best, authentic Sichuan food in NYC. Most of the staff here are from Sichuan and the food is the way it should be -super spicy and tasty, just as the name says. The food is vastly better and cheaper than similar restaurants in Manhattan that claim to serve Sichuan-style food. Get the dan-dan noodles, dumplings in hot oil to start; we followed with the fish with tofu and were very pleased with it. We were the first to arrive on a Sunday at 11:30 but the place quickly filled up soon after we were seated. For good, reasonably priced, authentic Sichuan food, you won't be disappointed!
Pros: Great tasting, authentic Sichuan food
Cons: Requires a 40 min train ride from Manhattan
