This is my second haircut from Glen, one of two of the shop's owners. I came to T.G.E.S. after poor service (rude, inconsiderate, overbooked) at another salon and this was just the place I'd been hoping for! The vibe: funky-cool-hip-vintage and definitely unpretentious. ""Thanks god"", as my mother says. The price: moderately expensive, but more than affordable for a very experienced stylist who genuinely listens and cuts with confidence, and for what it's worth, I'm a low maintainance gal who's pushing 40 but I still want to look good at the office without using 50 products to pull it off. What you will leave with: great smelling hair (ask for the geranium oil), a cut that fits who you are, and the feeling that you were the special client of the day. Do not be intimidated by what may at first look like a place for the Capitol Hill crowd only! The staff is warm and welcoming from the moment you walk in and you won't feel out of place once you sit in the stylist's chair.
Pros: Parking behind the building but spots on the street.
Cons: Not a "chi-chi" spa but you will absolutely get an expert haircut.
