This is the spot for flavorful American food without a bunch of hokey sauces dumped on top -- chicken pot pie (my favorite, beats every one I've tried in the Bay Area), pot roast, that kind of thing. The fish dishes are always moist but still hot and done. A great little bread plate always comes with, but don't get too many refills since you won't be able to do dessert.
I've taken some really cranky eaters here that always seem to find some problem wherever we go. But there have been no complaints about Mimi's from them, EVER. I like it all.
This one (only one I've been to) has immaculate service from a pro staff. They're there when needed but don't hang on your elbow.
