Rathbuns will be a good restaurant in 2 or 3 years when the hype wears off. Right now, the staff is just too impressed with themselves.
When I called for reservations a week early, I was told that the only thing available was 6pm or 9:30pm so I took the 6pm. When we arrived the place was EMPTY. Our party sat at the bar for some drinks, but within 10 minutes the hostess insisted that we go to our table. The placed stayed empty until about 8pm when we were leaving. Apparently this place is not as popular as they would like you to believe.
Corn soup had a nice balance of sweet and heat. Bone marrow is an excellent choice, so is the sweet pea ravioli. Lobster burrito is pretty average tasting, not worth the 2nd mortgage.
If Rathbuns is still around in 2 years I may come back.
