This used to be my favorite restaurant in LA - always excellent food that you knew would be exquisitely prepared once you saw Joe manning the kitchen. The last time I was there was a few months ago (with clients). It was a warm night and the A/C was not working so the room was like 90 degrees. Not only was the air conditioning AWOL, so was Joe (apparently he runs a catering business)! The food, in a word, was TERRIBLE! The kitchen couldn't even prepare a simple meat dish to order (client asked for well-done and got medium rare). We ended up refusing to pay for two of the four meals, it was that bad. Huge disappointment! Joe, wherefor art thou?
