First it should be noted that the menu will change with the seasons, so while a few favorites always appear, there's usually something new to try. Their Roast Beef Sandwich is a tender triumph, while their Autumn Chicken Salad is a great blend of the creamy and the fruity. Notable bakery items tend to be more buns, cakes and cookies than the golden flaky pastries. If you like crispy chocolate chip cookies, I would recommend Clementine's version. I've found generally prompt and friendly service. Limited seating, but an enjoyable, homey ambience once you sit down.
The only complaint I have is that parking can be a real bother with very limited street parking. First-timers might also be warned that the construction on Santa Monica makes it difficult to find the place. Just be on the lookout for the white signs. Go after peak hours for a more enjoyable experience.
