I ate at Pilar last night for the first time and it was excellent. The atmosphere and the food were top notch and the service was great as well. I ordered the mahi mahi which was prepared with plantains and sauteed onions. The fish was so fresh and well prepared that it melted in my mouth. The appetizers and desserts were equally enjoyable. Even though I live closer to South Beach, I'll be making the drive to Aventura to go to Pilar much more often. Not only was the food better than most South Beach restaurants, the crowd was less pretentious and the prices were much more reasonable.
