Don't look for Tex-Mex, Taco Bell or Heaven forbid ChiChi's-they serve dishes that don't exist in any culture!
Look for REAL Mexican food. Not hot-unless you're the type to eat a pure jalapeno with your meals! Not ""Spicey!!"". It's just plain, good homecooked Mexican food.
After living in Texas and California-we did afterall get them from Mexico-I looked forward to going to Mi Casa in Southgate. Soon discovered why the food was no longer pure Mexican...Tito (Red) Garza sold his share.
So, Downriver no longer has to travel into the city. We have our own ""Mexican Kitchen""
