The Levee is, without a doubt, one of KC's best bars. There's great live music downstairs, a sports bar upstairs, several outdoor seating areas, and private party facilities next door.
I discovered The Levee a few years back, shortly after I moved to KC from Chicago. A co-worker and his fiance' held a very tasteful engagement party in The Levee's private party room. Late into the evening I wondered next door and discovered a hip, happening bar filled with generally upscale twenty and thirty somethings. That was about three years ago and I've been hooked ever since.
The bands are good, service is friendly, and the place is unpretentious. My family & friends from Chicago demand a visit when they are in town.
I think that The Levee is one of Kansas City's best-kept secrets. Look for their ads in the Pitch newspaper.
