I didn't know what to expect after reading these mostly great, sometimes scathing reviews. Now I know. The scathing ones were crazy. Loony. Cuckoo. Yes, our experience was three hours long. Barely noticed. Yes, one glass of chardonnay costs $20 (but another glass costs $9--not that unusual). Yes, the most expensive prix fixe selection is $135--and it comes with four ounces of caviar--so what did you expect? The food is creative and ultra-fine, presentation for each dish is delightful, and the service is the best I've experienced anywhere, ever, period. At the end of our meal, we got a little box of petit fours--I think it was because we were so obviously enjoying ourselves (and because I couldn't finish my dessert), but they are probably that nice to everyone. If you're concerned about price, start eating mac'n'cheese every night and save up. Then go to Tru.
Pros: Service, Holistic experience, Quality/pres. of food
Cons: Price
