The fried calamari with peppercorn dressing and snail salad were good. I had a veal dish and my wife had chicken. The veal was smothered in a red sauce that tasted like it came out of a jar. The pasta side was al dente. The chicken was pedestrian and the potato side arrived late and cold.
We were not asked if we preferred smoking or no an they sat us in the lounge where the smoke and an obnoxious drunk provided atmosphere. To clear the air they left the door open and my feet were numb by the time the check arrived. Service was slow and inattentive and the tables were so close together the waiter had trouble getting around.
I couldn't wait to get out into the fresh air.
