I heard the Lowell was resting on its reputation, but then I went recently just because someone gave us a gift certificate. WHAT A JOKE. What a ripoff! Apparently, the new owners have tried to update the place, but all we experienced was shoddy service, mediocre (canned?) food, and incredibly high prices. Sensing our dismay (it was hard to conceal), even a staffer quietly pulled me aside and admitted the kitchen staff that was turning the place around had been fired and replaced with lower-paid (poorer) cooks, that the new owners were ruthless, and that she herself was soon quitting. Arghhh! Save yourself from this tired place!
