Visitors to New York City should grab a lunch from one of the many buffet-style take-out delicatessens in lower Manhattan, then walk down and take a free ride on the Staten Island Ferry. It is a twenty minute ride to Staten Island, and twenty minutes back to Manhattan.

(The biggest mistake tourists can make is taking the boat ride to the Statue of Liberty. It is long, costly, and will not meet your expectations.)
