I went to the Opium Garden for the first time earlier this year. It was hard to get in, and the patrons were reasonably classy as club types go. The place seemed like it was thriving. I went last week, and we walked right in at 10 on a Saturday. The restaurant smelled dirty. The water smelled like a wet dog. The place was full of pimply kids and potential Jerry Springer guests. Hang a couple of lanterns in a trailer park to get the same effect.
I'm not going back.
