If history is a compelling factor to visit a bar, then this is a must-stop. Otherwise, I found its charm to be insufficient to justify the steep drink prices and rather ordinary presentation. My cocktail came in a regular long glass and wasn't all that strong. The chips and guacamole were served in a similarly non-striking way and the guacamole was spilled over the side of its dish -- No attention to detail at all.
I was expecting a lot more. Maybe it's just that our generation is spoiled by theme bars, fancy glasses, velvet furniture and dark lighting. Maybe the Polo Lounge is past its prime. Maybe its both.
Pros: lots of history
Cons: expensive
