Small, but beautifully austere rooms, and from what I could tell, all rooms have a view of something other than a brick wall four feet away (like you find in other inexpensive nyc hotels). Central air/heating rather than window unit which is a plus.
Location is good despite being uptown. Subway stop is two blocks away. Ruby Foo's right next door is great for drinks and dim sum. Some standard shopping fare (Gap, Body Shop, Skechers, Starbucks) close by.
