As one of only 3 outlets for cask conditioned ale in the Triangle (and the nearest to home!!!), I have to support it. I just wish they would pour the first couple of ounces away before filling the first glass - it's always got that vinegar tang.
On the food front, entrees are OK but ordinary. Strange dessert names (I learnt ""a la mode"" means with a small dollop of ice cream thrown on). My wife's sundae was v. poor. Bar food at a previous visit was good. Service was overattentive, trying several times to remove our plates before being finished.
I will continue to visit for the cask, maybe not so frequently to eat.
Pros: cask ale - try it!, bar appetizers
Cons: overattentive service, poor desserts
