James Beach seems to be two different places - one I love, the other I've tried to forgive, but just can't any more. The good side is the bar - either bar. Service is fantastic, drinks are great, and atmosphere is lively. The other James Beach, the table dining version (how this can be so different I don't understand) has now been a nightmare too many times to ignore. The only thing they seem to be able to do consistently there is screw up - either on the service or food. I live in Venice, I wished I liked James Beach more, but after my latest trip there - wherein they only bothered to tell me that they were out of the special I'd ordered as they served the rest of my 10 person party their meals - I give up.
