Some restaurants offer dim sum that is oily and just too heavy for the brunch hours. At least I always thought so. Which is why I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted the dim sum offered at this newbie restaurant. Located at 37 02 Main St. Flushing NY, 11354 - validated free parking is offered on Prince Street, just make sure you get your ticket stamped after eating.
Personally, good dim sum is the equivalent of breaking open a shrimp dumpling...where one place can offer shrimp mush or it can offer large pieces of shrimp meat. You can also tell the quality of the foods if hours later you find yourself drinking gallons of water due to the overload of MSG. For this restaurant it was not the case - so thumbs up for good food!
The kitchen is open for viewing so you can see that it is clean and the delicious little dishes are freshly being steamed before being served. There is a table set up which offers old style street cart food where a lady will spoon up a dish that's to your liking. As with most Chinese banquet halls the decor is a bit over the top and colorful and brightly lit. The ambiance is bustling and food every angle that you turn.
My family came here one Saturday morning and the wait wasn't too long, maybe about 20 minutes. The food was plentiful and selection was good. Unlike other restaurants where the same carts of food circle round your table, we didn't find a problem keeping the table well stocked.
Great for large parties and good dim sum.
