In working with the management company, be ready to tolerate rude phone calls by employees threatening to put stop orders on security deposit returns if you choose to enforce your rights as a tenant within NYS law which dictates that all monies be returned within 14 days. Their (currently illegal) internal policy is 30 days and needs to be rectified.
They argued for compassion due to COVID, but myself and I'm sure other former tenants will attest to the fact that they will only consider compassion when it is to their benefit.
