We have used American Vintage Home for years. They put in two spacepak systems for us so you would think they would give good service. The Space Pak didn't work so we called them to come look at it. We were quoted $59 for an estimate. Our technician called at 4:45 pm and said he was on his way. An hour later he called and said he would be there in a few minutes. As a result we missed a church appreciation dinner. Rather than looking to see if the freon was low, he looked at the electrical system for 15-20 minutes. Finally he looked at the freon and found it was low. He wrote up an estimate for us which he shared with our warranty company who said this was the highest amount they had ever seen for freon. Then he told us that since he spent more time than anticipated he was charging us $243 for the service call. We were shocked. He said we could apply it toward the repair but didn't write it on the invoice and wrote it all under parts when no parts were involved. We called the office and were told we had to speak with the operations manager who was on the phone. I left him a long message saying we really should have only been charged the $59 for getting an estimate. It has now been 10 days and I have not even had the courtesy of getting a call back from them. After years and several thousand dollars worth of business. That is the last business they will get from me and I will dispute the credit card charge. This was outrageous and the worst service ever.
