Horrible ER Experience 12/13/2010

I just came back from the emergency room for an acute gout attack. I was taken to a room and greeted by a nurse. She left. For the next 15 minutes or so, no one came back to the room. Then a doctor assistant came in and asked standard questions. He said, I probably had an acute gout attack. Asked me to do X-ray. It was one in about 10 minutes. Back to the room and waited. Another 20 minutes were gone by and no one stopped by. I then waved to a person passing by for attention. He asked doctors. Someone came in and started to ask standard questions again. He once again said, it's probably a gout. He left without saying anything. Well, backed to wait. Another 10 minutes was gone. The assistant doc came back and said he was going to give me some medicine and let me out. In about 10 minutes, the nurse came back and apologized for all the delay because of other emergencies to take care of. She left and came back in about 10 minutes with 2 pills and 2 prescriptions. I took the pills. She asked me to go to pharmacy to get other medicines. I asked where the nearby store and she did not know. I said I need wheelchair to help me get the parking lot. She left to get a wheelchair. But I waited another 5-10 minutes and she backed with a chair. Left again and asked someone else to get the wheelchair. The whole process was totally disorganized, not showing any caring and being responsible. The doctor assistant is - Ryan Supplee more
