The State College school district is well known for it's high quality teachers, staff, and students. Not only are the academics strong, the student extracrurricular activies (at least at the high school level) are comparable to that of a small college. The marching band is nationally known, the intermural basketball games are a school tradition, and the theatre group just got back from a trip to Scotland this summer.
This high school is one of the best in the state, and in the next 5 years, a new high school building is under construction and a one-to-one computing initiative is in place to give all students at the high school their own laptop. Very impressive. Worth the extra taxes.
