I got a happy, healthy poodle here 4/13/2012

I bought my black poodle from Fourpoints Poodles in August, 2010. He is a happy, healthy, good looking, smart little boy. I am going back with my father to look at a puppy for him. There ARE a lot of dogs in the house, but they seem healthy and not mistreated. So, I'm of the opinion that it's not a puppy-mill. more

Not a Puppymill 3/23/2010

I've been to the home many times. There is a fully-equipped kennel with six outdoor runs, not cages in a barn. The nursing pups are in the house with their mothers in the "puppy room", each family in its own enclosure (three at present). There is plenty of space for them. There are six or so older dogs who live inside and socialize with the human family. These are crate-trained. They are happy, friendly, healthy-looking dogs. The owner does her own grooming. The entire very large yard is fenced to allow the dogs to run free. I don't know about selling dogs under her kids' names. I don't know exactly how many dogs there are, but there are many. I'm not an expert, but I am a dog lover and nothing seems amiss to me. If this single mom of four is raking in the money, she's saving it or putting it back into her business. The family maintains a very moderate lifestyle. more

puppymill 7/7/2006

This person has over 35 dogs at any given time in a back yard barn in cages and only breeds for money. Major puppymill. Claims no taxes for all the thousands she collects on dogs and sells them for 1000.00 and up. Plus she has sold dogs under her childrens names and that is one of the biggest red flags for a puppymill is the paperwork is in someone elses name but there sold as her dogs. BEWARE of puppymills like this. Contact your vet for a recomendation on a breeder and ask them if a person with over 30 dogs would be considered a puppymill and somewhere you should buy from. ALSO IF LOOKING FOR A REPUTABLE BREEDER, A REPUTABLE BREEDER HAS LIMITED LITTERS PER YEAR LIKE ONLY 3 TO 5 NOT 5 LITTERS IN ANY GIVEN MONTH. If you would like to get info on what a puppymill is please call AKC or look it up on the net and you will find the defination of a puppymill is exactly what Fourpoints Poodles is. more
