I was referred to Debi's wood touch up and refinishing by The Mansion on Turtle Creek. If you'd ever been in the bar there BEFORE she ""worked her magic"", you would have thought it would have looked better blown up! As the story goes, she worked throughout the night after they closed and before they opened the next day. Before she even considered any touch up finishing, she first had to repair the bar from Hell! As I understand it, she does EVERYTHING by hand. No electric sanders, air tools or modern conveniences. Keep in mind she was born and raised Amish and didn't leave that life style until well into her 20's. I've also heard she makes a lot of her filling material by hand, mixtures handed down from generation to generation. She swears (well, not actually ""swearing"".......she is VERY religious, but doesn't push it on you) she is in her 50's; I'll bet anyone she isn't a day over 30!! When she finished that God awful bar in two nights and I first saw it a few days later, I'd have bet good money it was a brand new bar...hand crafted to boot!! I then hired her to first refinish about fifty wooden desks, matching credenzas as well as six elevator cabs and again, they look BRAND NEW. That done, we thought we'd kidd around with her and have her refinish a thirty seat conference table that four other refinishers had already turned down!! She was supposed to ""stop by and look it over"" on a Saturday. We came into the office on Monday and we could not tell the difference between ours and a brand new one!!
Pros: She is extremely qualified, a perfectionist at what she does
Cons: She is so pretty, it distracts the rest of my crews!
