My husband and I are leaving Manus Dental in Chicago and their attitude is, ""Don't let the door hit you on the way out."" Anonymous One is completely correct and I wish I hadn't been pulled in by their faux ""you are such a great gal"" first impression. Things were going pretty well with regular cleanings and treatment for my gums...but then when my dentist FINALLY decided to repair some cavities (after going there for two years) she of course wanted to make my old icky silver filings ""pretty."" What was I thinking when I signed the papers that said, ""This may not work and if it doesn't, you're screwed."" I was thinking it was a formality, and I trusted my dentist. Now, seven months after that work was done I have lost 9 lbs because I can't chew/eat on that side of my mouth. Each time I went back for them to fix/adjust the problem, they've shaved away at my teeth without anesthesia and I can barely stand the pain, to no avail, and it costs me money EVERY TIME! Then the dentist says, ""You probably need a root canal,"" and they send me to their specialist. He determines that it's not a root, but that one or both of the teeth are cracked, the one they ""repaired"" and the one underneath it. Instead of the specialist telling the dentist what he suspects, I have to do that. I explain that it seems reasonable that my teeth are cracked due to or as a result of the improper work (my bite was way off after the initial crown). ""Oh no, we can't crack teeth,"" she says, ""if anything, we may have only exacerbated a problem that we couldn't see was already there."" But I had NO problems before this with the teeth, no pain, chewing or otherwise. But they do not offer any compensation in the end. Why should they...they are huge and growing more huge. What's one person who now has to have one or both of their teeth extracted due to their care? They would rather lose patients than deal with legitimate complaints.
