Yankee Stadium

We went and watched the Yankees vs. the Oakland A's last night. I'd never been to Yankee Stadium - my dad and my uncle grew up in the Bronx and went regularly. My uncle took me - we had spectacular seats five rows up between home and first. I got chills when I walked in the ballpark and looked around - you can really feel the history from 1923 of this place. It's a shame that they are tearing it down in a few years to replace it with a new ballpark - if you haven't had a chance to go to it, make sure you do before it goes away. In the expensive seats, they actually have an automated ordering system for food. The "orders" wander around with wireless devices taking your order. The food shows up in a few minutes brought by a separate person. The company that does this is called CenterPlate - very swank. more

Yes, Yankee Stadium has it's downfalls- the nosebleed seats are farther from the field than the goodyear blimp and there is no beer allowed in the bleachers. But they also always have cheap enough seats so you can bring your whole family to see their favorite players. Pretty good hot dogs here too! No cracker jacks though which is some kind of sacriledge. more

The home of the Yankees...You'll have a great time especially at a night game or at a Boston - Yankee game, where you can enjoy the rivalry. Yes, the food is terrible and overpriced but who can resist singing YMCA during the 7th inning stretch and watching the American flag wave in the breeze during God Bless America. You might even catch a glimpse of our old Mayor Giuliani. Take public transportation, the subway is cheap and safe. Taking a car is a nightmare! more

Yankee Stadium.. home to the best baseball team in the world, the New York Yankees. There's so much history here and the crowd is the funniest, most baseball literate crowd in the world. Unfortunately, Yankee Stadium is also host to overpriced beers, crappy food and I haven't said anything about its antiquated seats and features. It's still worth visiting once in your life more

There is no better place to see a baseball game than Yankee Stadium. Its not just because the Yankees play there (although it helps!), but there is so much history in that Stadium, it provides an aura that is unique to any other venue. If you can get there on a weekday or on a weekend when they are on the road, you should get a tour. You get to see the clubhouse, sit in the dugout, visit the pressbox, and go to Monument Park, where the greatest Yankees are immortalized. I didn't vote it perfect because it can take a while to get food and drinks, and the lines for the bathrooms can be BAD. But there's nothign better than hearing Sinatra sing "New York, New York" after a win!!! more
