Caution to anyone staying at this hotel. I recently stayed there and and a ring was stolen from my room. Part of this was my fault for leaving it in the room. Yes I was upset that...

Fantastic Value - cannot beat the location! 4/19/2010

Stayed here for work - and after using priceline (got the room for $84 a night) I am a huge fan! Pros: Clean Great Location - MGH Red line stop 3 mins away Cons: (if you care - it did not bother me) Old school TV... actually wondering if it might be obsolete? No fridge... Bathroom is super small - if you were with someone you want to shower with ... do not bother! Overall - I would have paid more than 84 for the sheer convenience and the overall quality, again like others have said - it is a holiday inn - but if you want to save money in a great location - do it. You might need to T a few stops but its worth it. Sidebar: if you have a car - valet is 36 come and go as you please, and its 30 a day for the garage next door and you cant leave or enter. Pros: price, location Cons: old school tv, tiny bathroom more

Hidden Jewel 12/6/2008

The Holiday Inn Beacon Hill on Cambridge is convenient to get around the town only a short distance from the Government Center hub of the subway and many historical sites. Rooms are clean and pleasantly decorated. Best of all there is a Whole Foods right out the back door where you can pick up something to eat an minimal cost. more

Good Location 3/17/2008

This hotel is in a very good location: walking distance to Fanieul Hall/Quincy Market, only a few blocks from the Charles/MGH T stop. The service was good. The room was an average size and everything was clean and operating. Pros: Location Cons: $36.00 a night parking more

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL 9/24/2007

Caution to anyone staying at this hotel. I recently stayed there and and a ring was stolen from my room. Part of this was my fault for leaving it in the room. Yes I was upset that the ring is gone. But the customer service I received from the Asst. Manger and the General manger was the worse that I have ever experienced. I ask that the manger call me on my cell phone, and that took asking 2 times, and then he call my room and left a message. This hotel they do not care about the customer. If you stay here do not leave anything of value in the room the maid will take it and then claim they never seen it. The hotel and their claim company always take the side of the employee. And will inform you that they are not responsible of something stolen.\r I even contacted the corp. off and informed them about the poor customer service I received they told me the same thing, not RESPONSIBLE for the ring and contact the hotel manger... give me a break.\r DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL\r Pros: close to almost everything Cons: hotel staff steal from guest more

Friendliest hotel staff anywhere! 11/18/2006

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Holiday Inn Select Government Center. Their hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. For example, I was looking for a nearby church to attend on Sunday morning. The man on duty at the front desk looked online, flipped through a phonebook, and helped locate a church within walking distance with my worship preferences. On other occasions they smiled as they hailed taxis, stored luggage, provided directions, and looked up tourist information. The rooms were very comfortable, clean, and quiet. The beds were great. The location is also convenient for tourists. Pros: friendly staff, great location, reasonable price more
