Wump Staff

My son recently started in the Red Room. Teachers Rachel and Adriana are fabulous as are the teachers in the other rooms. Each room sends home weekly written updates on what the children are learning. They also provide the kids with countless activities and games (painting, puzzles, moonsand, cooking, science, legos, trains, dress-up, etc). My son is never bored! While WUMP's facilities are not fancy, they more than make up for it in the quality of the teaching staff. My son stays a full day (8:30-5:30) and loves it. He runs in every morning and is still all smiles when I pick him up at night. WUMP is great for working parents in that they are flexible. I can drop my son off as early as 7am and pick him up as late as 6 (I try not to) without paying for extended hours. The director, Linda, is always around and completely accessible either in person or via email. We looked at several preschools and this has been a great fit for us: wonderful teachers, fun activities, parent involvement, flexible drop-off/pick-up schedule, long hours and a nice community of kids/parents. more

My 2 yr. 9 mos. son recently started preschool at WUMP. He's in the Blue Room (the room for the youngest kids) and he LOVES his teacher -- Sharon. (I really like her too.) The school is very caring and flexible, which is great when you are trying to integrate the little guys into the new environment without mom, lots of activities and new to using the potty. Sharon has been very supportive and he's definitely gaining confidence, independence and social skills (which is what I think is most important at this age). I haven't had as much contact with the other teachers at the school yet (probably because we just started) but I know he really likes Lida (Leeda?) and Georgina as well. He's in the extended day program (until 4:00) so Georgina is the one who helps him nap in the afternoon (not one of his favorite things). Overall, so far I am very happy with the school. more
