Wolcott Hall is a cozy setting with friendly, family like care. Residents can enjoy outdoor time at their leisure , something not found in other homes where residents are often kept indoors. There is a pet cat who spends time at the nurse's station. The staff understand the importance of creating a home like enviroment for those living there. Rooms may be smaller but the care recieved far surpases that of otherfancy looking homes. The staff are careful to make sure each resident receives plenty of one on one care and plenty of social interaction. The recreation department does a fabulous job creating group events, indivigual activities and celebrations. Monthly birthday parties and happy hours are held, performers stroll the halls singing and playing instruments, nails are painted, bingo is played. Something is happening everyday. The food far surpases that of hospital food. A wide variety isavailable for selection, and the quality of the food is amazing.It is not uncommon to enter the fine dining area and see a loved one eating prime rib. Veal, chicken breat, fiish, clam chowder, liver and onions, ham, vegtable lasagna, baked ziti, homemade soup, stuffed cabbage, are among the favorites served and presented by the fine and friendly kitchen staff. Food in served in a large hot serving buffet cart and drinks are poured fresh ..no menus to plan meals weeks or days in advance. Meals can be chosen at the time they are to be eaten. This is a home that allows smoking for residents outside. Personal laundry is done on site. A snack cart is brought around every few hours to give out coffee, tea, and a wide choice of snack and cold drinks. Call bells are answered promptly, as it is a small facility residents can recieve that extra care and time when needed. It is not uncommon to find one of the aids sitting down with a resident for a game of cards or a chit chat. Everything about this place is wonderful. I highly recommend this home and encourage all to visit.
