Wings Model Management

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Wings Model Management. Before deciding to go with Wings, I did a lot of research on all of the agencies in the Cincinnati area. Wings is hands down the best around. I was very impressed when I went in for my initial interview. Jake Lang, the owner, was very professional, and I could tell that he knew the industry well. One thing that I really appreciated about Jake was that he was very upfront and honest. He explained the ins and outs of the industry and offered great advice. I went on a few other interviews at other agencies in the area and was not impressed at all. I felt like they were just trying to talk me up and make me feel good so I would pay them money for something. I did not feel this way at all with WIngs. Since starting with Wings Model Management, I have gone on a few auditions, worked for a magazine. I could not be happier with the company. A+++++ all around! more

I did extensive research prior to bringing my daughter to Wings. There is NO SCAM with Wings. Do you know what it costs to be a model with Wings if they ask to represent you? NOTHING. There are no fees (other than the normal management % you pay when you've booked a job), you don't have to use a special photographer for your portfolio, there is NO SCAM. This is truly a legit, highly respected and professional agency. I looked at their website, their models and their success stories before even calling. For an agency in Cincinnati to have multiple children acting in Hollywood and too numerous to count models working on national campaigns speaks to the skill, professionalism and perseverance of Jake and his team. They have been nothing but honest and straightforward with me and my daughter. Did they promise us she'd make it big? No. Did they promise if she worked hard for what she wanted they'd support her and guide her. Absolutely. They have a proven track record and are respected both locally and nationally. I have found Wings to be extremely ethical and couldn't be happier. more

You should be happy that you left Wings before Jake scammed you into going to the big ""Model Expo"" in Dallas. He claims it will introduce you to big agents who will take you to Hollywood. If you have $2000.00 to waste to walk on a stage to earn a blue ribbon for best smile go for it. If they ""accept"" (have $2000.00) they then have you move your family and your child to LA, pay for acting and modeling lessons (I am sure kickbacks are involved), buy a car, housing, food etc and never get a single audition or earn any money. Its my understanding that his actors/models have spent in excess of $14,000.00 chasing a dream that Jake weaved. I spoke with Jake several times on the phone. I find him to be a mean and angry person, not the delightful person others describe below. Pros: ITS A SCAM! Cons: Money, lies and deceit more

My 17 year old daughter had always wanted to be a model so, after researching area agencies, I decided Wings would be the best one to help her start her career. Well I was wrong. After 6 months with Wings, she has had only one audition and no jobs. Nor have they provided any help in how to become a good model. Needless to say, she has been very disappointed. I have tried to find out if we need to do anything to get some jobs but when I called I was not given any help or encouragement. If you send them a question by e-mail you get ""ripped"" because Jake doesn't like to use e-mail. So don't be fooled by their claim that they try to help you become a good model because they don't. As my child asked to be ""an actor"" almost 2 years ago, I didn't know where to go or what to do. Then a friend recommended Wings Model Management (as her dtr had done some singing engagements for Jake Lang, the owner). We followed the protocol on the website and emailed pictures. After a few days we went in for a visit and Jake was interested in my son. He never lead us on or asked for money. He let us know about the CIncinnati market and that if our son was interested in more ""acting"" jobs he needed to get into a bigger market. We went to the Oct. 2007 EXPO in Dallas, TX. With NO expectations! You are never guaranteed anything in this business. We were floored with the amount of information that we gained through the EXPO and meeting all the other families going through the same thing. My son walked away with over 4 interested agencies in both NY and LA. We decided to go with LA and went on some interviews/go sees in Nov. 2007. We signed with an agent and manager in LA . We moved to LA for 3 months Jan-March and not only did my child get some work he also gained valuable experience seeing if he really liked being in this business. It was during the writers strike and many people said it was a slow time. I was glad that it was, being my first time out there. He was in 4 commercials (one National) and on a prime time TV show. Seeing our son up on the big screen (the National commercial was run in theaters) and seeing him on TV made everything worth it. Nothing in life is FREE, you have to work for it, and this is something that my sons thrives in. The money we had to spend was the same as for any business, nothing out of the ordinary. We have made some great friends through Wings and Jake makes it seem like one great extended family without all the competition. Some times you may not get what you want out of something, but if you dare to dream you can make it come true. Thank you Jake and the team at WIngs Model Management! Making a call to Wings Model Management was the best decision I made for launching my son's career. After spending $$$ at another less reputable model ""training"" agency, I was more than delighted to find Jake candid about my son's looks, potential, and he didn't build false hopes (like the other place). It was refreshing and also surprising to find a local agent who really cares about children, and the concerns of parents. Jake assisted us in taking the next step. The Model & Talent Expo my son attended placed him in front of talent scouts from across the U.S. and Internationally. It was an exciting event, and it was our decision to take that step that placed us today in the heart of Hollywood, California. It's been a roller coaster ride ever since. We met a lot of people - young aspiring kids and their parents - and made many new friends. We found Jake to be very approachable, unassuming, calm, tactful, yet very intense and serious about helping others succeed in the business . He has great vision, creativity, and endless patience and seamlessly attends to every detail - to help individuals be successful, whether seeking a career in modeling or acting. By the way, it cost less to attend the Expo than the cost of the training at the other place! Be open to the possibility that good things happen to good people! I would recommend to anyone not to call Wings unless you're prepared to have your life altered and have really given the possibility of relocation sincere thought, because Wings will help you make it happen if that is truly you or your child's dream - and the dream is realistic! Jake at Wings is the best in town. He is very honest and cares about all of his models. You can ask any of the Big Agencys and they will tell you that Wings is one of the best in the industry. The owner is one of the best in the business. He knows many people from all different markets and has models placed all over the world. If you're looking for a quality agency; this is it. The owner is honest and upfront and has his models' best interest at heart.
