being new to the city, I was very excited to hit-up another restaurant in the Craft family, as Craft Steak in Las Vegas is arguably one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. My first experience at Wichcraft left a lot to be desired, but I am committed to trying every restaurant at least twice before I rule it out. For my first experience, I ordered the pulled-pork sandwich on recommendation from my cashier. She told me that if I liked spicy, I should order it.....not only must you like spicy, you must have an inpenetrable mouth to finish this sandwich. It was loaded with so many jalepeno's, I started to break a sweat just eating it. I was very suprised at this, due to the fact that I have heard Tom Colicchio get angry at the chefs on Top Chef for ruining the palate with overly spicy food....\r

Second experience was about three days ago, I ordered the chicken-salad sandwich. The chicken-salad sandwich is by far-my favorite sandwich in this world, so I was expecting a great experience. Again, I was disappointed. The sandwich was delivered to my table before I even sat down, making me think it was already prepared and just waiting for someone to order it. This was confirmed when I bit into it and the bread was stale, and what chicken was on the sandwich was tasteless. Not to mention, the restaurant does not have any air-conditioning, making for an uncomfortable experience on a ""warmer"" day here in this city.\r

So, Tom, maybe you should pack your knives and go.....Wichcraft San Francisco is an embarassment to the fantastic dining experience you have created in New York, Dallas, and Las Vegas.
Pros: location, ambience
Cons: food, warm water
