Excellent service, Dr Kent is so friendly and knows exactly what she is doing. I love that the hospital is only for cats and I was very pleased with my experience and plan on going back again very soon. more

I love the Westside Hospital for Cats 4/25/2009

I can't say enough about how much I appreciate Dr. Santos and the rest of the staff at the Westside Hospital for Cats. Our had to have surgery on his bladder after he suffered a blockage. We were so nervous about the procedure and the recovery. Dr. Santos was knowledgeable, kind, and patient that we immediately knew we had made the right decision in choosing her and this facility for our cat. Our cats spent about 4 days in the hospital after the surgery. In that time we called constantly for updates and visited often. The staff always made us feel welcome. They were great with detailed updates and reassuring us that all was well. Our little guy is doing very well now, thanks to Dr. Santos and the Westside Hospital for Cats. I love that they only see cats. The facility is so clean and comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend this team to anyone who loves their cat and wants the best for them! more

the ONLY vet in town 1/29/2009

I have a lot of cats, no one touches them except Dr. Elyse Kent at Westside Hospital For Cats. Because of her a young cat of mine, diagnosed with a virulent cancer, lived 4 more quality years. The cat I first came to her with lived to 21, her younger sister to 20. Dr. Kent knows things that ordinary vets have never even heard of, and can put them into practice. Her skills are great, but it is her intellectual curiosity which makes her exceptional. No "cookbook medicine" here. Pros: No "cookbook" medicine - best diagnostician Cons: None more

Top-Notch Care 1/13/2009

We have been clients of Dr. Kent and the Westside Hospital for Cats for nearly 20 years. We can't imagine using any other vet. Out cats have always received top-notch treatment from people who care very deeply about cats. Everyone is warm and friendly, but still very professional. Pros: Best Care Available!! Cons: None!! more

Level of care is second to none!! 12/17/2008

Westside Hospital for Cats provides the finest pet care in the city. They give each patient extra attentionand you never feel that you are being rushed through your appointment , the level of care is second to none. The hospital itself is state of the art, the boarding facilities are stupendous. Dr. Kent saved one of my cats when others couldn't even find the problem. Pros: State of the Art facilities, Excellent Medical Care Cons: None more

THE BEST CAT VET!!! 12/17/2008

Yofe and Simcha have been a part of my life for the last 17 years. They are my children. Up until a year and a half ago, I still considered them kittens. They remained healthy and active for geriatric cats. Dr. Kent has taken such good care of them for me. As an RN for over 30 years, my critical care skills have allowed me to notice slight changes in their health. Dr. Kent always responds immediately! I love that she always calls me about their condition. She respects my decisions about their care and she is always honest. I would never go to another Vet, for 17 years she has been there for them! My friends also go to Westside Hospital for Cats because they simply are the best!!!!!! I would like to thank you Dr. Kent for being the BEST CAT VET and taking such incredibly great care of Yofe and Simcha!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Honest. Excellent care. No dogs to stess out or scare the kitties. Cons: NONE!! more

Cannot recommend the hospital highly enough! 11/19/2008

The Westside Hospital for Cats has served as the exclusive care provider for my cats for over 10 years. In that time, Doctor Kent and her marvelous staff have provided the highest level of care, from routine examinations to major surgeries. In addition to their professionalism and scrupulous attention to the latest advances in feline care, the entire hospital staff continually demonstrates genuine sensitivity toward both the cats they treat and their owners. I am always confident that my cats are receiving the very best treatment available and I cannot recommend the hospital highly enough. I feel truly fortunate to be able to bring the cats that provide me with so much love and affection to a place where they receive the same. Thanks to you Doctor Kent and to all of your wonderful staff. Pros: Very best treatment available Cons: none more

AVOID!!! 9/30/2008

I agree with most of the reviews of this place. Dr. Kent has been rude many times. She is always busy (i.e in her office) and IF she ever does return her phone calls she does sound annoyed and whenever she doesn't feel like getting involved she simply avoids her patients. At first i thought she was really nice but i went in again and all the things i didn't expect would happen did.I think the receptionists are scared of her and i guess who wouldnt. I wouldnt take my cat back there again. They are ridiculously overpriced and sometimes the doctor just checks the cats for 5 minutes and she charges over a 100!! ridiculous.its amazing how she says she loves cats and blah blah blah when i couldn't see any of that.how sad. Pros: no pros.all cons. Cons: everything!!!!! more

OUTSTANDING cat medical facility, excellent staff 3/10/2008

I disagree with the above three reviews, that is absolutely never the type of experience i've had and i've been a client of theirs for 18 years! I've had 4 cats live long lives some with serious problems but always receiving the most upscale treatment and compassionate care. The prices may be slightly higher than some other practices, but you pay for the best and receive the best. I have no complaints whatsoever and I would never in a million years believe Dr.Kent would say "we're very busy." She makes time for all questions and has spent countless hours with me counseling me about my cats and their illnesses. I am forever grateful to be a client of such a caring veterinary clinic, especially because they specialize in felines. Pros: Beautiful practice, clean, modern, well equipped Cons: Slightly more expensive more

Don't take the risk of taking your cat here! 5/2/2007

Although we were very happy with the treatment we received from Dr. Addleman, now that she's no longer there, I would highly recommend taking your cat to a different vet. My cat had surgery and when I went to pick him up I discovered they had bandaged him up with the catheter needle still in his leg! When I called to talk to Dr. Kent about it, she said, "We were really busy." Not an excuse?especially considering the cost of the surgery! Then I returned with my cat a month later when a relief doctor was on duty. My cat was misdiagnosed and was suffering from a life-threatening illness. Thank goodness, my instincts took over and I rushed him to a different vet before it was too late to save him, but he was in such dire condition that he required emergency surgery and a hospital stay of 5 days. I never even received a call from the relief doctor to check back up on him when he knew the cat was having serious symptoms. Stay away from this place! It's overpriced, unprofessional and they can't even keep track of the cat carriers. Pros: They only treat cats. Cons: The staff are unprofessional and incompetent. more

shady business practice 9/22/2006

as this is one of the very few places i could find that does cat grooming, i made an appointment for my cat. when i made the appointment, i was simply told it would cost $45. when i arrrived with my cat for the appointment, the receptionist gave me several forms to fill out as a new client, and contacted my regular veterinarians for my cat's records. when all was completed, i was told that the cost was $125 because i was a new client and my cat had to be examined. when i questioned the necessity of the exam and the failure of anyone advising me before i made the appointment, the receptionist gave a half hearted apology. then i questioned the $80 exam fee, the receptioninst said it was justified because my cat would be examined by a DVM. my regular veterinarian is also a DVM and charges between $35-$45 for an office exam. since i work fulltime, had specifically shceduled this appointment on my day off, still had a multitude of errands to do, and did not want to traipse around town with my already upset cat in a carrier, i kept the appointment and paid the invoice. however, this business practice is about as shady as it gets, and the business seems to have no qualms about taking advantage of you. Pros: clean, does cat grooming Cons: ridiculously expensive, hidden costs more

High Price, Low Quality 5/4/2006

We felt taken advantage of by this clinic. The vet we dealt with spent a lot of time pushing expensive tests (which are not competitive with market pricing), and very little time listening to us and diagnosing our cat. The techs were rough for our taste, and the staff wasn't particularly helpful. Pros: Open schedule, Cat Specialists, Good parking Cons: Low Quality of Care, High Priced, Bad Vibe more
