Wonderful, caring veterinarians 5/4/2011

I have two very high maintenance dogs that I've been taking to the West Hills Animal Hospital for the past five years. Without exception, Drs. Lawson and Moussa have been thorough, caring, personable, and obviously in love with animals, just like the rest of their staff. I couldn't be happier with them. They always explain exactly what the problem is, different options for treatment, the cost of each of them, and they do not push you into making a decision you aren't comfortable with. They always follow up treatments with phone calls and genuinely care about your pets. My dogs love them, and they are very good judges of character. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants the best possible care for her pets. more

Best Vet In The Valley 4/14/2011

I have had 4 dogs under the care of Dr. Lawson and West Hills Animal Hospital for the last 18 years. I wouldn't THINK of going anywhere else. If you're shopping for a Veterinarian by price, you shouldn't have a pet. \r What you look for in a Vet, is:\r ""Will they be there, and accomodate me, in a time of need?"" \r ""Will they explain in detail, and make sure I understand my treatment options, yet leave the ultimate decision to me, without feeling swayed?""\r ""Will they in fact have different options to choose from in a given situation, and find ways to cut costs?""\r ""Will they know me and my pets by name when I walk through the door, so I feel part of a family, instead of a client in a file folder?""\r The answer to ALL of these questions is an emphatic YES from WHAH. They also have an incredibly user friendly website, where you can make appts, refill meds and lots of other things. You can shop around, but you'll end up placing your pet in Dr. Lawson's loving arms, if you have any sense at all. more

Stay Away - Poor Experience 4/2/2011

This is a puppy mill vet. The place is run down, ice cold, incompetent staff, and over priced. Like someone else suggested, I'm going to try All Animals Med Center in Calabasas. But if I have to, I will drive from Woodland Hills to La Verne to All Pets, my companion is worth it. more

Best Animal Hospital and Clinic in the San Fernando Valley !! 3/23/2011

I have been going to WHAH for almost 20 years now. I don't understand the other peoples comments about the staff. They are not cold. They are just the opposite. They are very friendly and always greet me with a smile. They may be a little more in price than other vets, but you get what you pay for. The vet on Fallbrook is ok . I had to go there a few times on the weekends and the floors were covered with dog and cat hair. The waiting room smelled of urine. The staff was ok. They did what they had to do and told me to go to my own vet on Monday. I was not impressed. WHAH is always clean and does not smell.\r I love Dr. Lawson and Dr. Moussa. They are wonderful vets and really care about animals. They explain what needs to be done and give you options and as for the office staff Paula, Jessica, Rochelle, Dana (car salesman) please far from it. They don't force you to brings your animals there and grab your purse and take all your money. If you weren't happy there, why did you keep going more

Paws down, the best vet in town! 3/8/2011

I have been going to West Hills Animal Hospital for the last 2 years. I needed to find a new vet that was closer to where I live. I was unsure about starting over with a new vet, but a 45 minute commute for a few minute appointment or medication refill was getting out of hand. I had heard about them by word of mouth and decided to give them a try. I had an appointment for a consult with my 2 dogs and they called and needed to change my time due to an emergency that would have kept me waiting. The fact that they called me was a great first impression. They were so kind from the get-go. I moved my appointment to the next day. When we showed up, they thanked my over and over for my understanding. I work in the medical field, and emergencies happen!!! I knew from that phone call, that if I was ever in that situation where my animals needed help, they would be a priority. They were great with both my dogs and gave them so much attention and love from the moment we walked in the do more

Great Doctors 8/12/2010

I have not had the rude office staff experience the other reviewers referred to. The front desk people behaved professionally every time I have gone in, but I have also not had reason to argue. Regardless, Dr. Moussa is an exceptional doctor who has shown more kindness and concern towards my dog Leo than any doctor I have met. She actually played with him during the exam and spoke about recommended vs unnecessary tests to cut down on costs!! I am not lying when I say she is the only person my dog actually pees out of excitement when he sees. I'm so happy to see Dr. Moussa has recovered from her accident and is back at work again. I consider Leo fortunate to have her has his doctor. Dr. Lawson also seems like a great doctor but Leo has not seen her. I hope the burned down hospital will reopen soon. more

A good place to stay away from 4/8/2010

Overpriced, cold and perform needless tests. You can do much better! I was always unhappy with their overpriced, uncaring attitude, feeling ripped off after every visit. No feeling of a love of animals.\r I just went to All Animals Med Center in Calabasas and found what i've been looking for-caring staff, doctor and fairly priced. more

$$$$$ hungry. Always issues with front staff. AVOID! 4/5/2010

The hospital has changed since the new ownership. While its awful that a fire destroyed the building killing little animals, the doctors, staff and nurses are terrible. I no longer use West Hills Animal Hospital as my vet, and I would advise people to avoid this facility. Once again its all about the money! more

money hungry heartless criminals 5/21/2009

They only want your cash. No respect for your personal feelings. The lady who explains the bill is like a car salesman. Never, ever, take your pet there. They will prey on your anxieties and hope you don't get a second opinion. And if you do get a second opinion they will not send the information to the real vet. Stay away! more

I LOVE THESE GUYS!!! 10/19/2007

I've been going to WHAH for about 4 years now and can honestly say that my pets have never been treated better at any hospital. I had always seen Dr. Lawson, but recently met Dr. Moussa for the first time and loved her just as much. The front staff is friendly and greet my pets by name. They make me & my pets feel special every time we walk in the door. I'm not sure how there prices compare to other hospitals (because I only go there), but I always feel as though I've gotten my money's worth. I wouldn't take my beloved family members anywhere else!!! more

BEST VETS EVER! 10/3/2007

I had been taking my pets to WHAH for many many years and I must say, the level of competency has always exceeded my expectations on how a doctor and it's staff of veterinary medicine should be. My beloved Cheyenne was diagnosed with a splenetic mass over the summer of 2006 that must've weighed over 7 pounds. Dr. Milliken at the time was their relief doctor on staff since from what I could tell, Dr. Lawson was always there giving 100% and needed time off too! So, Dr. Milliken had seen Cheyenne quite a few times over the duration of her residency there and upon finding this mass over the course of her symptoms that lasted a few months (she got better on and off for a period of time) and the xrays that were taken during those times, Dr. Milliken insisted on doing the surgery right on the spot literally after locating the mass, the last day we brought Cheyenne in for a recheck (it had gotten noticeably bigger). That afternoon in fact, she blocked out the rest of the openings for appointme more
