Welborn Overhead Door Co

It's 2am, and Brian from Welborn Overhead Door just left after making an emergency repair on my door, which wouldn't shut. He explained why the problem happened, made the necessary repairs, and also replaced the rollers, which were badly needed. He pointed out some other things which could become a problem in the future, but said those items didn't need to be fixed now, so I felt like he was straightforward. I can honestly say that the 12 year old door has never worked better! Much smoother and quieter-- by far. Besides a great result, I was struck how considerate he was. Didn't seem at all troubled to be making a repair at 1AM in the morning. While he certainly gets paid, I can imagine another person/company not being as accommodating. Happy to give them 5 stars, and they're the first and only company I'll call in the future, if needed. more

This was years ago. Welborn put a new garage door on my garage and did a fair job at a good price. However, later my garage door opener had problems. The young man (Steve S.) came out to repair the opener and I ask what it would cost and he said that it was just a small plastic piece call the (I believe) the screw drive? and that the cost would be $30 dollars. I did not think to get a written estimate or ask about labor cost. After the job that took 15 minutes, he charged me $168.00. Now before when I called they told me that if I needed a new garage door opener it would be $307 total. This was in year 2002. Hopefully, they do not pull this sort of thing anymore, but be sure to get a complete estimate up front from these guys. I of course will never use them, myself, again. By the way I contracted the owner or manager, but they would not do anything about what I felt was an over charge. It did teach me one good lesson that may have been worth the cost, I never let anyone do work for me without an written cost for the job. I also pay only by check or credit card and I have each payment or the payment sign off on. more

I have nothing but good to say about this company. They showed up when they said they would. Called in the morning and my garage door was installed by the afternoon. I thought that their price was very reasonable for the product sold. Customer service called afterward and Billie Jo was very pleasant. I will continue to use this company. Larry more

I called in to have my door repaired after calling two other companies that wanted my arm as well as my leg. Seeing as how I really need them, I figured I would try yet again. My technician showed up on time the same day that I called. He went over the problem, gave me an estimate ($200 cheaper than the last guy) and fixed it right there and then. Couldn't be happier. I made an appointment to have my garage door operator replaced. The appointment was for a Saturday between the hours of 11am and 2pm. The technician never showed up. I waited from 10am - 5pm. I called their office numerous times. No one was able to get a hold of the technician to find out why he did not show up. On Monday I called their office and spoke with the supervisor who told me that it was a lack of communication and they could have someone out today. I told him that I was not at home now and needed the job done last Saturday. The supervisor did not seem to care about losing my business or all the time that I spent waiting for the technician. From my experience with this company, I would recommend prospective customers to go elsewhere unless they want to do business with a company that really doesn't seem to care. Cons: Poor customer service. No one showed up to do the job. more
