I have been going to the Waters Davidson Family Dentistry since I was young. Through all my years as a child, teenager and now adult, I have always been impressed with how friendly, knowledgeable and helpful the staff has been. I have been a patient with Dr. Waters for many years. I was impressed with his care from the beginning with his ""painless"" dentistry. I was used to a dentist who scared my kids and me with the fastest shot ever and with painful procedures. Dr. Waters proved to me that there was another way to do the same work, with great results and no worry of pain! I have been a patient of Dr Waters for at least 30 years. I have always been impressed by the compassionate care. I have sensitive teeth and need someone who understands and is aware of the special care required. The staff from the receptionist, hygientists, and assistants have been friendly, caring and interested in my well being. The office has always been clean and tastefully decorated. The more recent addition of Dr Davidson has added an additional level of expertise. The fact that most of the staff have been with Dr Waters/Davidson for many years speaks well for the practice. I have found as new techniques and products are available they have been explained to me in lay person's terms for better understanding. Over the years I have recommended Dr Waters to many of my friends and relatives. I have never had any one say a negative word about the care received. I was traveling from New Mexixo and had some pain develop. I stopped to see Nevin Waters. He found a crown loose and fixed it while I was there. I also had my teeth cleaned on the spot as I was overdue. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They filed the paperwork for my insurance and even called me later in New Mexico to see if I was having any trouble following the procedures. They folks are great. I grew up visiting a very ""threatening"" dentist in my hometown and stopped going to the dentist while in college (go Wildcats!). In a few short years, I began having trouble with my teeth, and began seeing Dr. Waters at the advise of a family member. He was incredibly helpful and, to my surprise, was actually painless! I have been going to Dr. Waters and now Dr. Davidson for 20 years and can't imagine what my mouth would be like without their services. I make the drive from Wichita now, and it is worth the extra time and effort to get there. They have helped me consistantly and courteously without exception. Additionally, I have come to know about the many missions that Dr. Waters and his wife Lois are involved in, both locally and as well as in Mexico and Haiti, providing dental care to those less fortunate. My family has been going to Dr. Waters since he started his practice. We've followed him from office to office without ever considering going to someone else even though we have to pass many other offices on the way. We jokingly refer to Dr. Waters as the Painless Dentist because on the occasions when we have needed shots, they have been painless. I have needed numerous procedures in the past and have always been more than satisfied. The care has been first rate and he and his staff have exhibited an interest in my well-being beyond just dentistry. I have recommended my friends and family to him and his daughter and will continue to do so. There has never been a question about invoices that wasn't resolved fairly, promptly and professionally. I've been having my teeth examined and cleaned by Dr. Nevin Waters and his staff for about six years. They are unfailingly friendly, courteous and completely professional. I'm 67 years old, so I speak from long experience. Dr. Waters personally, and his staff as a team, are the best I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Pros: GREAT care!! more

My kids and I went there for our first visit because we were new to the Olathe area. They were really friendly until the dentist came in to see you. He didn't really say anything to my kids when he sat down he just said ""open up"". Which really bothers me. Kids already have a bad idea about going to the dentist anyway. Then after he quickly looked over there x-rays and teeth he told me my son had 4 cavitiies and my daughter had 1. So I scheduled an appointment to have them fixed when I went in for my cleaning. So they called me back into the chair and started working. While I was in the chair they took my 9 year old son back into the room and just started working on him. He was so scared. He had never had a cavaitity filled before. They couldn't wait until I was done. I was so upset. Well then they proceed to tell me that I also had 4 cavitities. I was mortified. I have never had a cavitity in my life. So I was just floored at this point. I decided to tell them to finish up what they were doing on my son and we would be leaving. I also asked for the copies of my x-rays and my kids x-rays so I could take them and get a second opinion. I took all the x-rays back to my dentist when I was a kid. He took his time and throughly looked them over. He did say that my son had 1 cavitity but as for me and my daughter he couldn't see one. He said that there were some spots that he would watch over time but nothing that he would fix right away. He said what the dentist was doing was where there were weak spots in my teeth he was filling them as cavitities. When really they aren't. But he was charging me for them. I have never had such a bad experience with a dentist in my life. I will NEVER go back to them and actually warn people NOT to go here. Cons: The work they do is not really needed. more

I refused to pay the $785 and they have continued to hound me through collection agencies and now are threatening legal action. I maintain that the problem was created because they used a temporary cement, which failed in a week and I lost the tooth. My dental insurance denied payment also because this bill was already paid.\r \r They have not been the same place since Dr. Nevin Waters retired. They have been very unprofessional in their correspondence and handling of this. I see it as a warranty problem but they will not leave it alone. Of course, we will not be back and would not recommend them. Cons: Lindsay Waters is riding on her retired father's reputation. more
