This is the Washington Mutual Bank that I live closest to so it is the one that I frequent the most often. I would probably visit it often anyway just because they have the drive thru with a real person in it. That way when I make a deposit, it is credited to my account right away.
You do not ever want to make a deposit to your account through the ATM machine though because Washington Mutual doesn't handle the ATM deposits locally. They send them up north somewhere so it can take several days for your deposit to hit your account. This is information that I was given by the lady when I opened my account with Washington Mutual.
When I opened the account, I got free checks and an ATM debit/credit card right away. They also asked me if I wanted to sign up for the Washington Mutual school program where a tiny amount of your credit card purchases [made with your debit/credit card] would go to the school of your choice. So of course I had to choose my grandson's school, Franklin Elementary. They also have a website where you can handle your account online.
I have been very happy with Washington Mutual Bank in general for several years now. And I haven't had any problems with the downtown branch either so I am pleased with them too!
