Wanda's Cake Gallery

This afternoon I was talking with a friend who informed me that Wanda's has closed its doors and is no longer in business. I was shocked by this news due to the fact that I had put a deposit down on a wedding cake and had heard nothing from Wanda. I have been a customer of Wanda's for many years and could not believe that this was really happening. After coming home this afternoon and investigating the situation it turns out she skipped town 3 weeks ago. After contacting the owner of the building that she rented from we found out that 20 other people have called looking for her as well. I am now left to find a bakery that can make my cake before my wedding and missing the 50% I paid Wanda in the process. more

I've used Wanda's in the past for birthday and anniversary cakes and was always absolutely delighted. However, for my wedding cake, which cost $1,250.00 I was terribly disappointed. My order was never confirmed, phone calls were not returned to me, emails I sent the owners were not responded to, the cake color and icing color were wrong, the decoration on the cake (which was done on-site and one hour before I walked down the aisle) was completely wrong, it was, nicely put, a total disaster. Imagine ""discovering"" what they had done as you walk up to your wedding cake with your husband to cut the cake after your first dance. I wanted to cry at the wasted expense. I was offered a $75 gift card to compensate me and not even an apology. As a bride, you pay extra to hire professionals to ensure that you get more than a wedding cake. I would never recommend Wanda's to anyone, nor did I accept their gift card, nor will I ever use them again. Talk about take your money and run! Cons: They do not listen to their clients. more
