Best

My kids love this place. I can't lie, I love it too.

Worst

Fun to visit, but be prepared to pay, pay and pay! Most expensive tourist attration I can think of. Although Universal is not any cheaper, it offers a lot more for your money. ...

Thieves Lurk in DISNEY 7/9/2010

My family went up to magic kingdom for fourth of july we are annual passholders and dvc members well we knew the park was going to be packed for fourth of july so we just decided to take it easy and just relax. On july 6th we went to magic kingdom at night we had our stroller decorated for fourth of july with ribbons and garland we also had our diaper bag in the basket under the stroller. We had a fastpass for peter pan and there was a parade going on so the line for peter pan was not even 5 minutes. We parked our decorated stroller in the designated stroller parking with our diaper bag we werent gone more then 5 minutes when we returned our stroller was gone. There was a lady moving strollers around to accomadate other strollers so we looked around maybe it was placed somewhere else nothing it was taken. Along with our 300$ stroller our 50.00$ diaper bag our 300$ iphone and our 400$ camara along with my husbands pin lanyard with 200$ worth of pins along with our babies medicine and clothes and bottles. When we told the cast member that was moving strollers around she looked around the strollers nothing then finally she called security which took 30 minutes to get there by that time whoever lowlife stole our stroller was gone from the park well the security did nothing gave us a little paper with lost and found number. Needless to say we left orlando with no stroller camara or iphone or babies stuff... who would do such a thing and most importantly why didnt disney do more? We are never going back .. i find it disturbing to go to these parks again and having to worry while im on a ride if someone is going to steal my babies stroller we are also cancelling our dvc membership. I wanted to post this to alert parents to please be carefull when you go to these parks if something happens to any of your belongings DISNEY WILL NOT HELP... i just dont see how this can happen in a FAMILY PARK... if it was just another stroller then i could understand that maybe someone mistoke it for theres but our stroller was unique it had red white and blue garland everywhere red white and blue bows no one could mistake that for theres. Now we have to pay for another stroller another phone and later on another camara when we just dont have the money and disney all along has done nothing.. All our pictures are gone they can not be replaced we have pictures of our baby in there that can not be replaced... PARENTS PLEASE BE ADVISED THIEVES DO LURK IN DISNEY... Cons: Not enough security and DISNEY IS NOT HELPFUL more

Simply amazing 2/6/2009

Words cannot describe the magic of this theme park it truly earns the name Magic Kingdom. I visited the park with my nieces and nephews last month and I was so pleased I didn't want to leave. The rides were classic. The atmosphere was magic. I truly did feel like a child again. I would recommend this Theme Park to the young and the young at heart. more

There is a reason it is called the Happiest Place on Earth 11/20/2006

There is no place like the Magic Kingdom. No other theme park can come close to this park. The castle is spectacular, the rides are classic, the atmosphere is like nothing you have ever seen. Everyone in the world should have the chance to see the Magic Kingdom in their lifetime. It is something you will never forget. Pros: Attractions, snacks, atmosphere Cons: lines are sometimes long, but that is to be expected. more

Walt Disney World is the ultimate family vacation! 7/14/2006

I am going to Walt Disney World in December for the 27th time since 1974. I live in a northern state so it takes more than a short trip to get there...but it's worth it! The Magic Kingdom is the quintessential amusement park; it makes everyone of every age feel like a kid again. There are cute attractions for kids like the Dumbo ride, family attractions such as Mickey's PhilharMagic, and high-speed adventure on such rides as Great Thunder Mountain Railroad and Space Mountain. We used to take our two sons in the 1970's and 1980's, now we're having a ball taking our grandkids. We used to stay in hotels outside of the park until we found out what a great deal you could get staying in WDW. It just makes the experience that much more enjoyable. We'll never outgrow Walt Disney World!! I can't wait for December! Pros: I love how they keep older rides like the Haunted Mansion the way I remember it, yet still excite us with new attractions like Mickey's PhilharMagic.. Cons: I wish I could get there more than once a year! more

Overall Awesome 7/14/2006

Me and my family which includes an 8 yr old and a 7 yr old went to Disney for the first time. We stayed the week and had the best time of our life. Of all the parks Magic Kingdom was the best. It was crowded but fastpass worked great. I would definately recommend taking advantage of this feature. Get your fastpass and then go on other rides and come back during the alloted time and theres no waiting. Souveniers were expensive as well as the food but all in all it was worth the price to see the looks on our childrens faces. Make a reservation for ""character dining"" and eat with the characters and get their autographs. This was the best part for the kids. The park was the cleanest of any amusement park we've been to. The parades and fireworks are also the best we've ever seen. The only part we disliked was getting into the park through those turnstiles with our cards and the fingerprints. It didn't work half the time and held up the line. The ""extra magic hours"" was also nice for those that are staying at a Disney Resort. It's still a long wait for the more popular rides but not as bad as during the day. Hopefully we will return if we can afford it. Pros: Very clean, Disney Characters, a lot to do and see Cons: getting in the park, price more

BEST THEME PARK IN THE WORLD!!!!! 7/14/2006

well the first time i went i was 2 months old. i have a picture of me in mickey mouses dressing room...with him holding me. when i was about 6 yrs old we went EVERY weekend as a family. then when we stopped going i was so upset i cried because i ""missed"" mickey. disney is a magical expierence for any age. im a teenager and i choose to go there with my friend for my birthday this year. it is one of the cleanest places ive been and the staff is usually very polite...i love how the rides havent changed since i was a child. i would reccomend that you start planning your vacation there right now!!! your child meeting cinderella, mickey, or buzz lightyear will probabally make their year...make sure to catch the parades, in the one around noon or so they even ask kids to praticipate. the fireworks and spectro magic parade are also amazing. 2 thumbs up Pros: everything its amazing Cons: i dont really have any more

Best theme park hands down!! 7/14/2006

This is the greatest theme park ever! Its for kids 1-100...Magic Kingdom it magic, I can't wait to see my 6yr old daughters eyes when we walk into the park. It an awe everyone should feel in there lifetime. Its true it can get crowded and hot, but go in off season, don't be stupid and go during spring break and then dis the park because of lines. I have gone in January (great time to go), August ( very hot time) and October x2 (the best time) and I'm planning our trip next year in October again. Pirates of the Carribbien was my favorite ride, in Octber we went on it 4x in a row with no waiting! Food and souviniers can be expensive, so be prepared. We rarely ate at the parks and avoided the big food bills. You need to experience the total Disney expeirence by staying at the resort, the magic extends to the hotels as well, althought I have never stayed at one of the expensive hotels, I have stayed at the moderate price ones and they are just as magical. This park has to be seen by all, the best theme park by far!!!!! Pros: magic, moderate price hotels are great, customer service Cons: food prices, price of the expensive hotels is ourtrageous up to $700 a night more

The Magic In Magic Kingdom 7/14/2006

Everytime I go to Magic Kingdom I am brought back to the magic of being a young child dreaming of my prince. I have now married my prince (for 25 years) and we come at lease twice a year...It is truly magical Pros: Truly convenient for all Cons: busy at times more

The new Pirates of the Caribbean ride isn't what it's hyped up to be 7/14/2006

I went to the Magic Kingdom just this past week. I found that the less thrilling rides were the most fun to me. I completely avoided Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain, while I only got to ride Space Mountain once (because I got a fast pass~). The rides meant for children seemed too frightening in my opinion. For example, in the Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, and Snow White rides, you're in complete darkness almost the entire time and can hear children screaming around you. (I think these were partially meant to scare, but Disney shouldn't be THIS scary for little kids). These were actually my favorite rides, though, as well as the transit in Tomorrowland. It's a 10-minute ride around Tomorrowland and is very relaxing. Disney has hyped up the new Pirates of the Caribbean ride with all the news that Jack Sparrow and Cap. Barbossa have been added. Don't be misled to believe it's a cool, new ride; it's not. The only differences are Jack Sparrow popping out of barrels in random places, and Barbossa standing on a ship. The food was expensive, but I was more than happy to eat with Pinocchio while waving at the boats passing by on the ""it's a small world"" ride. My biggest complaint is that the rides need to be updated. Many haven't been updated in SO many years it's painfully obvious. Pros: Children rides are still appealing to me Cons: Long lines, crowded more

BEST EXPERIENCE OF YOUR LIFE!! 7/14/2006

I have been to Disney World 10 times in the past 18 years and never regreted one trip. The food is great. Pick from hundreds of restaurants in epcot. All of them are great i like the intalian pavilion. It's a great place for play and formal gatherings! My family and i enjoy it a lot. It's worth the money and time! It's a worldwide favorite so what is there to regret? NOTHING! more

HINTS to a better visit 5/25/2006

We have been there many times and will be going back again. 1. Have a plan. Determine what you want to do before you enter the parks. 2. Do popular rides/attractions or character visits early in the morning or later in the day when everyone is leaving (we rode Space Mountain 6 time in 1 day and didn't wait in the line for more that 10 minutes!) 3. Go off season. July is crowded. October in not. 4. If you go during peak seasons get there when the park opens and do the big events first! Plan on leaving the park when it is packed. 5. Everything is expensive so plan for it. 6. Food can be expensive so either take in snacks, share sandwitches, or leave the parks for meals Hope this helps. Pros: everything Cons: can be crowded, expensive, can get hot more

Magic Kingdom - Truly Magic 5/1/2006

My Nice and Nephew 3 and 1 yr. old loved the Magic Kingdom over this recent Easter Weekend. It was such a joy to see their smiling faces meet all the Disney Characters they love. My nice wanted to ride the ""It's a Small World"" ride as many times as she could. Make sure to catch the Main St. Parade at 4 O'clock and 10. Both are different, and a must see. Then stick around for the 11 O'clock fireworks played to Disney music. These are the best fireworks shows you'll ever see, better then any 4th of July show most cities put on. The Magic Kingdom is mostly for children, but if you go with a date, check out the Haunted House for some alone time. Tip: choose a spot early to watch the parade. Pros: Prades, Fireworks, Castle Cons: Price/Cost more

Better than an ""amusement park"" 8/11/2005

Magic Kingdom and all of Walt Disney World for that matter, should be under a category within itself. It is so much more than an ""amusement park."" Any place can build a big roller coaster, water rides, etc. Disney does everything with such magnificence. No attractions at Magic Kingdom (or all of Disney) are just thrown together without the creators involving a tremendous amount of effort, research, theming, detail, etc. I have never been to a place with such friendliness, enthusiasm, organization and cleanliness, even on the busiest of days, trying their best to make sure lines go as quickly as possible. They keep the nostalgia by keeping most original attractions as well as adding new attractions when necessary. To compare Disney World with ""amusement parks,"" is like comparing NYC to Small Town USA. You just can't do it. No place does it like Disney. more

The Wonderful Worlds of Disney 7/31/2005

Walt Disney's dream for the future is found in the wonderful theme parks that make up Disney World. From the Magic Kingdom to Disney's Animal Kingdom, from Disney's Wide World of Sports to EPCOT and all of the water parks, Downtown Disney, MGM, the monorail system the list goes on and on. The staff is superb and trained to be helpful without being intrusive. The daily work to keep up the cleanliness must be a daunting task but it is the cleanest park every single day. Sure the prices are up there but when you look at all you can do then the cost per hour is a very good value for the whole family. It is a time and place to loose your concerns and worries and just enjoy being a kid (or being a kid again). Ah, what a Wonderful World (even if it is make believe!). Pros: Diversity of parks, Excellent staff, A Wonderful Escape Cons: Warm in July, Did not join the cast, Far from home more

Been there & going back 7/13/2005

During my last visit it was very hot and crowded, but nevertheless worth it! In addition to the Magic Kingdom we visited Blizzard Beach, Animal Kingdom, and MGM. The staff is great, far superior to those in other parks. I assume that is a reason for the higher than average prices at Disney. The FastPass system -- it's great! Pros: Great family fun, Good transportation, Staff Cons: Pricey, Summer heat more

Not going again! 7/12/2005

I took my niece and nephew (both 5) at the end of April this year and they had an okay time, but I did not! The Magic Kingdom did not accomodate the crowds very well and the rides were just okay. The prices were way to high to buy more than 1 or 2 souveniers. We had to wait for over an hour to meet Minnie and Donald, and then they told us we would have to get back in line to meet members from Pooh, and then get back in line AGAIN to meet the Princesses (minus Jasmine) and Ariel was in a different place altogether - another line! Suprisingly, Mickey was the shortest line and he was 15 mins. Whatever happened to having them walk around the park?? The kids had WAY more fun at Sea World - the ride Atlantis out shone ALL of Magic Kingdom's rides!! Pros: Cleanliness, good parking Cons: Crowded, Expensive!!, lines for characters more

wonderful, absolutely the greatest place on earth 6/19/2005

my family goes EVERY year for at least 10 days. we have been doing this for 10 years. it doesn't matter if you are 3mos or 40yrs. there is something for everyone because disney has thought of everything. we first took our children when our 2 oldest were 1 & 2. we took our daughter when she was only 3mos. now they are 4,8,and 9. the youngest will be taking her 5th trip this year. trust me they are NEVER too young. you will have a blast. the lights, the shows, the food, the cleanliness, the cast members, and of course the RIDES are unparralled. i just can't say enough!! best time to go is november (not thanksgiving though) Pros: clean, friendly, great food Cons: summer months hot, crowded sum & holiday more

LOVE IT! 6/19/2005

We love all of Disney so much we bought a time share! The initial capital outlay is steep, but we figure the time share will pay for it self within 5 trips. We hope to go every year. We never have enough time to spend there. Magic Kingdom is magical. I am impressed with the whole place - pricing is very steep, for food, souvenirs, etc., but you expect that. Highly impressed w/2 things (1) cleanliness of everything right down to the restrooms, & (2) attitudes of employees, they must have an awesome training program. As long as I am able, kids go with us or not, we're going to Disney World! Go in the off season if possible. 1week after New Year through mid Feb. have been great for us - NO LINES! Pros: clean, employee attitudes, lots of bang for buck Cons: expensive food, expensive souvenirs more

Over-rated 6/19/2005

I have been to Magic Kingdom as a child and again twiced with my own kids. the park does a very poor job of handling the large crowds. Alot of the attractions have not changed in 30 years, very outdated park. I will not ever go back! Pros: Kids love Mickey, food is ok, expensive Cons: to crowded, needs updating, staff unfriendly more

Simply Awesome!!!!! 5/13/2005

My favorite place in the whole wide world!!!! So much imagination and detail has gone into everything there is at any of the parks. The best parades, fireworks in the world are in the park. I walked around in Epcot for several hours in pouring down rain just so I could see Illuminations. It was very much worth it. I would do it again if I had to. You will never ever see anything else like this in your life. I Just made myself homesick. Think I will go plan my vacation!!! Go to Disney...you won't be disappointed...I promise. Pros: Friendly, Clean, lots to see and do Cons: I can't live there more
