Virginia Street Antique Mall

Went to make a purchase with a debit card. They asked for photo ID. Showed them a local drivers license. They made the purchase through my bank. Then asked for a thumb print. When asked why they said they had a lot of international customers. My reply was that I was an American citizen. They the customers oriented cashier rudely told me that as a business they had a right to ask for the thumb print. Why yes they do have that right and I refused the sale. My right as a local consumer is to not shop with them AND tell everyone of my horrible experience. more

The Virginia Street Antique Mall lacks any ethical practices and does not care about their customer beyond how much money they can squeeze out of them. We saw a kitchen island in this store on Friday May 25, 2012. The island was listed at $150 and we felt it was a great deal. We went home for the weekend to measure the kitchen and to make sure it was exactly what we were looking for. When we went back down to the store on Monday May 28, 2012, the prices was bumped up to $325. The time span that lapsed was ONLY 2 days! This is a HUGE mark up. When we questioned huge price mark up, we were told that they would take 20% off for us. We felt this was completely unacceptable. When we questioned further, we were told that they did not believe that this practice was unethical and that it happens all the time. This store is HIGHLY overpriced and they have little to no customer service nor do they have any sense of retail ethics. If you are looking to be overcharged for your items and treated as a money bag rather than a customer, then come to this place. Otherwise, I recommend that you take your money elsewhere. more

I recently spent the afternoon with my grandma at this antique mall. It's a wonderful place for an afternoon of antique shopping, but make sure you have plenty of time to shop because it's HUGE. There are so many vendors and such an incredible variety of things that I'm not sure you'd ever be able to see it all. I was able to buy a whole stack of vintage photographs, several decorative plates, some handmade kitchen towels, decks of commemorative cards, all kinds of things. I think that evey reno resident should drop in and pick up that unique thing that will make their house a home! more

This is a huge building that contains many, many different shops all in one building. The variety is good and the quality of the merchandise generally is very good.. Their prices are very reasonable and it is just plain fun toi browse through this mall. I think the only negative part of shopping at this great shopping mall is that it is sometimes difficult to find a parking place nearby the mall. more
