I can not speak more HIGHLY of this company. I was absolutely SICK when I saw that my black pair of patent Louboutins had both heels chewed on by my 6 month old puppy. Serves me right to leave my closet door open! I had not had them for two months and they were so badly damaged that after talking with some friends, I felt that I could do nothing else but throw them out. Luckily, a co-worker told me about the Village Shoe Shop in the Rice village and that he AND his father had been taking their dress shoes (Prada, Cole Haan, etc.) to this company to be repaired for over 15 years! I decided to take my pathetic looking shoes in and they said the only solution would be to recover both heels in brand new patent leather (authentic leather... I was SURE to check). It did cost me around $35 per shoe but I was FLOORED when I saw the result. I promise that you could not tell that my shoes had been in the mouth of a little furry trouble maker. My family has done business at the Village Shoe Shop for well over 30 years, perhaps even 40. Driving in from Victoria, Tx. to make a stop there for shoe repairs. It isn't the same people. It isn't the same service. It isn't the same quality. All that remains of the original is the name and the location of the business. Stil higher costs than most any place else, a hussel to spend more but now with an unforgivable culture of rudeness. Avoid this place. Take the time to research other places and I'm not talking about chain shoe repair places. more

I walked into the Village Shoe Shop just to get a simple repair and left with a smile as well as some friendly new acquaintances. It troubled me to find a good shoe repair store in Houston, due to the fact that I need shoes to me fixed for a wedding, pronto. I needed new heels and strap to be re-attached to the shoe itself. The job was done quickly and easy. Not to mention the friendly staff behind the counter that were a great help. I went into the Village Shoe Shop in Houston to order some orthopedic shoe inserts. I showed them an old pair of inserts and stated that those type of inserts were exactly what I wanted and could they make them? The sales person said yes, so I had my feet molded and measured for the inserts. Came back about three weeks later to pick up the inserts and found that they had made the inserts completely WRONG -- the inserts were completely different from what I had requested. So, they had to remake the inserts. Pros: Shop smells nicely like leather! Cons: Staff unable to follow simple instructions. more

I've a pair of Mary-Jane styled Tommy Hilfiger shoes that I love so much with only worn out heels. Since Rice Village has been so popular with so many famous brand name store, I trust that the only shoe repair store here would give my favorites shoes some good fix to the heel bottom.
