I have been a faithful customer of VI's for many years, back when it was located two doors down from it is now. The good ol days are gone at VI's. Though the formula is the same for the pizza the taste is not. I have tried to give it a try with these new guys, but the last four times I have been there have been the worst. \r On top of the fact they over cook all the pizza now, I have noticed that if you go there after 8 pm something disgusting happens every time. They start cleaning the counter top they move the pizza from one side to another as they spray cleaning solvents all over the place It is horrible. It easily reaches the pizza and more. I have given them many chances but this was the last time I will be going there. \r more

Best sicilian slice ever! 12/7/2010

Been going to VIPizza since it was the smaller place right next door. Though the ownership changed the Pizza remains the same. The best Sicilian slice ever! Spicy chicken isnt bad either. Also the drinks are great because they used shaved ice. Love it, great people too! more

Traditional NY Pizza 5/8/2010

It is awesome to have pizza like this still around. It reminds me of when my grand father use to take me to my favorite pizza place in Corona as a kid. You do not find many pizza places like this. It is nice at a time when most pizza places have gone to s**t that a place like this still exists. Pros: Taste like pizza did 20 years ago good, sauce rocks Cons: Crust can be thick sometimes depending on who makes it more

BEST PIZZA PERIOD. 4/19/2009

I'm a life long Bayside resident and can remember when I used to eat VI Pizza when the store was just a small counter next to an old house with a horse wagon lawn decor in the front yard...I'm not that old either - 29. The pizza was great back when I was a kid and it has remained the same throughout the years. Even when they expanded to the corner shop where they currently are located. The sicilian is awesome....it's completely different than any other sicilian slice you will eat....the dough is soft, with just enough sauce and lots of cheese. They don't offer anything else but pizza and some calzones/rolls. They don't need to offer anything else but their famous pizza. They don't deliver either, they don't need to. If you want a great slice of pizza go to VI. Always great pizza. Pros: Consistently Great Pizza more

Best Pizza in NYC 11/28/2008

To say this is the best pizza in NYC is a large statement. I may be biased because of having lived a few blocks away, so this is my opinion. The pizza is always perfect. The standard I alway use is the regular cheese slice. I have yet to find another pizzeria that has the perfect slice thickness and consistency of dough. The crust has just the right crisp and size. The cheese, sauce and dough are always in perfect proportion to each other. What else can I say? My wife loves the grandma and grandpa slices. The people are always friendly. This is where we will return for a slice when we visit since we moved out of the area and the standard to which we will hold all future local pizzerias (which we have yet to find in NJ) Pros: The perfect slice Cons: Parking more

BEST SICILIAN OUTSIDE OF SICILY 8/20/2006

The Oddo Brothers are a blessing to Bell Blvd., in that they have created the perfect Sicilian Pizza. Not that the other offerings are sub-par, but the Sicilian is a little slice of heaven! Have any doubts? Get this---this place, until a recent addition of calzone and sausage and chicken rolls--offered pizza and ONLY pizza. No heros here, or pastas, or dinner specials. PIZZA. And, even more incredible, they DO NOT DELIVER. Franbk, Joe and Phil Oddo make their money the old fashioned way--a slice at a time. And is it ever a wonderful slice. Now, in today's world to have a thriving pizzeria that does not deliver and offers pizza only is amazing, incredible, and a huge tribute to the quality of the product. VI PIZZA rules!!! Buffalo Chicken Pizza!!! 9/17/2005

I don't know if other pizzeria's do this but V I Pizza has a pie they call Spicy Chicken and basically it's buffalo chicken nuggets and blue cheese!!!! And it is AMAZING!!!! Pros: Spicy Chicken slice, Decor, Friendly Cons: Price, Atmosphere, Fountain Drinks Only more

Best Slice Ever 7/11/2005

The best cheese slice in the world. Get it in house (they don't deliver anyway), admire the sports memorabilia decor and watch Bayside streetlife on Bell Blvd. The chicken and garlic slice and sicilian are also very good. more
