Worst

I questioned their denial of a complimentary exam in the exam room with a vet tech that I got with a coupon. We went back and forth a bit and she said she would go talk with the v...

Horrible Experience 12/3/2010

This is the worst vet experience we have had. They have lost our records, raised their prices and are just flaky - NOT something you want in your vet! more

Cocky mottos get you nowhere in life if you can't back them up... 11/11/2008

If your looking for pet care, I would go else where. I started going to "Firehouse" ParkHill a few years ago when I had moved to Denver, at that time they had just become firehouse, As time has gone on i've noticed the less than subtle changes as they fully become "Firehouse". Pros: Dr. Miller, Dr. O Cons: Pricing and Turnover. more

Are you kidding me? 4/22/2008

I just called this place to find out what the pricing was to have my 5 month old kitten neutered. After I told the gentleman on the phone about 3 times that it was not for a female cat (could have been interesting dropping my little guy off) I was told that the exam to meet the doctor was $52 and then to have him neutered would be $299!!!!!!!! I am all for quality care when it comes to my pets, but shame on this clinic for charging ridiculous amounts for simple procedures. Just a word to the wise to ask in advance what the price for EACH procedure is so you don?t walk out broke. Pros: I inquired about pricing before just booking an appointment, the office would have been convenient Cons: Ridiculously priced more

The Firehouse Animal Health Center 4/8/2008

I found the Firehouse Animal Health Center to be very impressive and it far exceeded my expectations.I was very nervous when I moved to Denver fearing that I would have to either find a new vet, one that would have bunnies as patients or continue driving to the much loved Dr. Monica at the Firehouse in Ken Caryl. But with gas costs, and 4 pets, I knew that was not logical. Thankfully, I found Dr. O at the Firehouse on Colfax. Not only is he an expert at treating bunnies and has one himself, but he is just a dear man. He really cares about your pet(s) and takes the time to be thorough and knows the importance of how special our creatures are in our lives. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and the facility is immaculate. I feel so relieved to have found a competent vet. I did find this to be a little more expensive than say, Planned Pethood, however, they do offer you a plan that offers discounts on future visits. Pros: Location, Dr. O and staff Cons: A little pricey more

Great Place Until Firehouse Took Over 1/6/2008

Re: the new Firehouse Animal Hospital at E. Colfax and Glencoe. Firehouse bought All Creatures and Colfax East Animal Hospitals, and consolidated them into this new location. Cold facility, with no human touch. Two stars are for the much-loved Dr. Paul Oberbroeckling and his remaining staff; otherwise no stars. An excerpt from my parting letter to Dr. O says enough, though not all: ""My dear Dr. O, After much thought, it is with an immensely painful sense of resignation and loss that I write to tell you that Tony is the last of my animals I will be able to let continue in your regular care. [In my opinion], Firehouse is such a negative entity that, from my perspective, it prohibits you from providing my family with your best care, on which we have relied so gratefully for over 20 years. My analysis is that Firehouse management, from its top on down to on-site management, is an incurable [corporate ] disease for which there is no hope; a rapidly metastasizing cancer. Staff turnover is appalling. Service has suffered in a way I never imagined. I've received the hollow corporate schmooze, from [NAME REDACTED] to [NAME REDACTED] to [NAME REDACTED]. I am disgusted. I have no illusions that leaving your care will make a bit of difference to Firehouse. It is the nature of the beast. I would rather have another [dangerous animal] in my home than support the Firehouse beast. In fact, while I will still tell people of your remarkable abilities and compassion, I will also be unequivocal about how sick an organization Firehouse is. I cannot ever say enough how important you have been to my life, and, of course, to my kitties. It's not like I won't see you again, but clearly the beginning of the end is in sight. The die has been cast. With great respect and affection, Jane"" more
