Do not take your kids there! 1/4/2010

1. After 30 minutes wait in the line to purchase the chicken meal, and another 30 minutes in the pick up window, we just have to return it, because the work told me "you only waited 30 minutes, why are you keep asking?" We asked for manager, he didn't do anything, just refund our money. Well, what do they care, there are many more people in line! 2. Kids are hungry - because the security check guy didn't let us bring some snack in. In his words "you can't bring that much staff for kids!" But did he consider we have 4 kids, and we will be there all day?! Hot Dog Price - 4 very small hot dog, $26 3. Parking - General, Preferred, VIP. Try to save some money, be prepared a very long walk. We entered one gate and park almost at the side of the other gate. 4. Hollywood Citywalk - It's a place, we pay for the parking, pay for the tickets, force to walk through, so they make money on us, and on the retailers, of course, retailers hope us will open wallet again and again .... 5. Rides - No fast pass, you just wait, and wait and wait ... Studio tour 65 minutes, Mummy 60 minutes .... 6. House of horros? - you got be joking, it was filled with cheap Halloween props, what a waste of time! 7. The park - it's dirty, trashes are every where, and people are smoking every where, I didn't see any enforcement at all. The bathroom line is so long, you have to wait in the line 30 minutes before you really want to go. 8. Carnival Games, the park now is filled with these cheap carnival games - it's everywhere. For 5 dollor or more, you have chances to play, and if you win, you get a piece of junk stuffed animal that isn't worth 10 cents. for most of us, it's an eye sore! If I want to play those games, I would go to Puyallup Fair! 9. T-2: 3D same as before, last time I was there it was 1995. In fifteen years, no change at all. In conclusion: spend one more day in Disney will be a way better choice then visit this place. Our family will not go there again. more

Universal Studios 4/28/2006

When I was a nanny in Southern Califirnia, my best friend and i went to a couple of concerts at Universal Studios. Talk about fun! We had a great time, we went early and spent a few hours in the park itself and had a blast. The Jurrasic Park ride is my favorite, very fun and life like, it scared the daylights out of us. Typical amusement park, lots of fun but very pricey - especially admission and food! more

I have a picture of me with a life size Frankenstein leaning his arm on my head! 4/28/2006

Although there is a Universal Studios in Florida, my very first visit was to the one in Hollywood, California. I enjoyed seeing ET, The Phantom of the Opera and being on the set of Jaws. But I will never forgive that King Kong for scaring the living daylights out of my daughter Stacie! Wow, talk about life-like! We spent a whole day here and It was a day I will never forget. more

Lots of things to see 8/25/2005

Universal Studios is more about seeing than doing (as in riding a ride). There are many exhibits showcasing their productions (for example, the I Love Lucy store/exhibit). There is also a tram ride that provides a fun way to look at their movies that have been made there. This is a great picture place, providing lots of backdrops and nice scenery in the form of famous movies and shows. However, I don't think there's enough to do to last the whole day, unless the summer lines are really long. As an added bonus, after you're done with the park, you can visit Universal Citywalk, located right outside the gates of the theme park. Another great tourist attraction, it provides street performers, some good eateries, and good people-watching. There are also several movie premieres held here. more

Universal Studios 8/21/2005

Universal Studios is a cool amusement park where you can trick people about the rides. I remember when my relative tricked my friend about this tram ride. It seemed like an ordinary tram but then weird things started to happen such as a bridge we were going to cross was about break and when this area we were going next began to get flooded. I remember when my relative started crying on Back to the Future because he thought that the dinosaur was real and was going to eat him. Jurassic Park is a great ride too. more

Great Attractions 8/20/2005

I have been to Universal Studios many times and each time it was very fun. They only have a few thrill rides such as Jurassic Park and Back to the Future but the shows are amazing. They even have a ride which is like a tour but during the tour, you encounter things such as King Kong and the shark from Jaws. They also have 3D and 4D shows like Shrek and The Terminator. more

NUMBER 2 IN SO CAL 8/18/2005

Soo, yeah it's small and whenever they want too put something new in, they have to removee something old (and good), but next to disneyland, it's the best amusement park in so cal. Don't miss the studio tour -- it has its boring moments, but it also has some thrills that shouldn't be missed. Ride on the new Mummy rollercooaster, back too thhe future, and Jurassic Park, see T2, the animal planet live show and I hear Fearr Factor's good. It's a fun day. Doon't eat there if you want edible food. Walk too the CityWalk foor more civilized fare. more

Universals 8/17/2005

Universal Studios is known for its hollywood sets and attractions based on hollywood blockbusters such as Jurassic Park, Backdraft, Back to the Future, and older ones such as King Kong and Jaws. Admission price is typical of an amusement park, you may find a special deal or coupon somewhere. There aren't a lot of rides but its a cool place to spend a couple hours at. There is also Universal City Walk afterwards to spend an evening eating or watching a movie. more

good for a day 8/5/2005

Universal Studios Hollywood is a little less desirable than the one in Florida, mainly because they don't have all the same rides. What's missing are some good speed rides...they have the Mummy roller coaster and Jurassic Park, but not much else when it comes to thrill rides. If you are into the live shows and slower ride attractions, then you will have a ball at Universal. In my opinion though, it doesn't hold a candle to Knott's or Disneyland. It's cool to see the behind the scenes stuff and how they make various movies, but don't plan on spending more than one day doing that. Universal quickly grows boring as more of the same just seems to be the norm there. To further the problem is that they got rid of Universal Horror Nights about five years ago, which was the best thing about Universal (you can now only see that in Florida). If they added that back, that would be reason enough to check out Universal at least once a year. more

Are you a movie lover 7/31/2005

If so, this is the amusement park for you! The behind the scenes tour is great to see how many of your favorite movies are made. But, there's much more than that! Some of my favorite attractions are : -the Jurassic Park ride, a raft type rollercoaster--expect to get wet! -The Mummy Returns rollercoaster, there's usually a super long line, and it's a pretty short ride, but it's so worth it! It's the fastest rollercoaster ever!!!! -For little ones, you've got to check out the Shrek 4D movie, it's so fun! more
