Best

The crickets are actually pretty tasty. Fun place to eat for sure!

Worst

I used to think that it was amusing with decent food. Now, I find it tiresome with mediocre food, served with no enthusiasm whatsoever.

The owner sells illegal whale meat at his other restaurant 3/12/2010

Sounds good, but I can't support people who sell illegal endangered whale. The Hump, their sushi restaurant should be closed down for that. Who knows what they sell here. more

Airport/Ocean-air/City views/Exotic tastes/Bar/Vibrance 9/15/2009

Seems people expect that at the price, the dishes should be exemplary of classic cuisines of the countries represented...they're not, so try not to let your taste buds be confused by your comparisons. The food is tasty, and the dishes are their interpretations of native favorites of many asian cuisines...if you must have authentic Thai, Korean, Chinese, Indonesian, Japanese, and Vietnamese food, this might not get it...but once again, all the dishes are quite tasty, freshly prepared, and reasonably priced- if anything any longer is. The bar is great, the surroundings quite pleasing, and if you do want the best in Japanese and sushi, just head on upstairs to TheHump, the sister restaurant (with it's own flight deck). Monday nights the big band jazz is incredible, usually without charge, no less...and...you can even dance a bit, if there's room! Whosoever cannot find goodness here...amidst the runways, fresh air, open views of the city and mountains must stumble about eternally, always grumbling about something, alas...pity to them and joy to those who visit this remarkable LA restaurant. Oh yeah, and if a waiter sticks his sleeve in your food...let him have it! But seriously, the waiters are well trained and supervised...every person and restaurant has it's off-nights, but this place is mostly on. And did I mention parking? No valet and no shortage of proximal parking. One flight up, take the elevator or the stairs... Pros: Atmosphere, Monday Night Jazz Bands, Sports Bar, Food Cons: terrible location...joking, of course! Great spot & parking! more

What you talking about? 4/27/2009

My girlfriend and I go to Typhoon all the time. Always great food, drinks and service. No place Is perfect all the time. The one time things weren't perfect we let they know. Not a big deal and they took care of the tab. Always look forward to going back. more

Horrible Horrible 2/12/2009

What happens when a restaurant serves Chinese (Dim Sum, Taiwanese, Szechwan), Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian and Filipino foods? Nothing is done right! Reason is simple, no chef can master all these cuisines. After couple bad dishes, we decided to just order a Pad Thai to fill up. They couldn't even make the Pad Thai right, I only took one bite. more

Reason is simple, no chef can master all these cuisines. After couple bad dishes, we decided to just order a Pad Thai to fill up. They couldn't even make the Pad Thai right, I only took one bite. Good that I was there mainly to try the insects. They are not bad, can't say tasty since they are mostly deep fried, but interesting experience. Nice location with a view of the airport, so would be good to go have some drinks on a date if the service is a little better. Overall, horrible. Only go there if you want to try some insects and stick with the insects. more

I had a great time, great food and good service. I'm probably one of the pickiest eaters you will ever meet and even I found something to eat on the menu. It was delicious! more

My sunset drink spot 9/18/2008

Great spot to watch the planes during sunset with a drink in hand. The bar serves the yummiest mixed drinks; I'm a huge fan of their Mojito's. The frog legs are to die for and taste like mini chicken. The Mongolian beef is wonderfully delicious with the fresh steamy bread. The servers are great and started recognizing us after our 2nd meal there. And who doesn't love those creepy crawly critters? Pros: The bar and location Cons: Busy on weekends more
